Doctor Who: The Curse of the Black Spot

The 3rd episode of season six of Doctor Who was The Curse of the Black Spot. The story line was the classic Dr. Who plot formula. The TARDIS homes in on a distress call and winds up in the cargo hold of a late 17th Century pirate ship somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Turns out that the ship is truly in distress. Not only are they in the doldrums, with no wind to move, but the pirate ship appears to be haunted. The crew is being whittled down by a ghostly siren, a lovely ethereal female who zaps the wounded and sick after they are marked by the cursed black spot.
