Charlie Sheen's onscreen mom is standing behind her TV son during his trying time. Two and a Half Men star Holland Taylor is sending her support to Sheen, who is undergoing treatment for his substance abuse issues.
"Charlie is a brilliant, talented and lovable man, as was my father, who also was an alcoholic," said the seven-time Emmy nominee. "So I have the greatest respect for the terrific struggle any addiction is, and my heart goes out to Charlie and his family. I know that people can try rehab more than once...and that does not represent a failure. The courage to try again is what means something. There is sometimes no telling what might be the very thing to usher a person towards acceptance and recovery. I am very hopeful for Charlie, and send him my love and encouragement, as I always would."
Production on Two and a Half Men has been shut down while Sheen gets himself together, and CBS has ordered additional episodes of Rules of Engagement and Mike and Molly to fill the gap. Let's hope, for the network's sake, that the stars of those shows stay out of trouble for the time being.
